TIme for a walk!

The big event of any day with Tyler is going for a walk! We only go around our little street with two col-de-sacs, but since Tyler likes to examine and name the color of every flower, it takes up at least an hour! Emily decided to bring Oscar along which is always an experience in itself! At one point Tyler decided to take over the leash and it was quite an experience! He ended up dragging Oscar, dropping the leash, got pulled and whipped around by Oscar, and eventually gave it up!

Sneaking a pic!

Pulling Oscy...

...dropping the leash...

...being pulled by Oscy!

After the walk Tyler wasn't ready to go home so Nana tricked him into playing in a fort! He would hide behind the tree as Nana would say "Where's Tyler?" and then he would pop out screaming! It was so cute, especially since Tyler really believed that Nana had no idea where he was, even on the 100th time!

Great Grammer and Gramper Visit!!!

Today we FINALLY got a visit from Great Grammer and Gramper! They haven't met Kylie yet and have had to cancel and reschedule a couple times, so we were very happy they were able to finally make it! It was so great to finally introduce them to their first great-grand daughter! Kylie of course was her usual charming self showing off all of her tricks and smiles! Auntie Lewis also came for a visit and surprised Grammer and Gramper which was neat too! She saw Kylie when she was only a couple months old so it was nice for her to see Kylie all grown up! To add to the surprise, cousin Amy showed up too! At this point, Grammer and Gramper were getting excited to see what would come next, so we had to gently let them down by telling them this was it!

We drove down this morning and met Nana, Auntie Lewis, Grammer and Gramper at La Valencia hotel in La Jolla for lunch which was amazing! You could see the ocean from our table! Kylie ate all "human food" especially the EGG quiche that Nana gave her...halfway through her eating it I realized it was egg (which she can't have yet) and semi-flipped out! Oops!

After our meal we headed back to Nana's house where Kylie took a nap in her porta-crib (if you can call it that, it is actually bassinet size) and actually fell asleep on her own in it, and stayed asleep for quite a while! Then it was playtime, dinner, and more playtime with cousin Tyler! Here are some pics from the day!

Little, or should I say Big, Kylie in her travel crib!

Sarah showed up with Tyler wearing his "I am going to be a big brother" shirt to surprise Grammer and Gramper with the good news!

Playing cars with Tyler and Grammer!

Auntie Em helping Tyler and Kylie SEARCH for the Wiggles DVD!

Thank goodness we found it! Here are Kylie and Tyler absorbed in the Wiggles! It is like Tyler is seeing it for the first time!

Tyler was SOOO adorable! He dances and sings along with the songs! Here he is doing "Hot Potato"! (Notice how he doesn't let go of the cars!)

Hey, it kept her busy for 10 minutes...

...and let me eat a dinner before 11 pm for once!!

At least this one locks!

Well, add "TV Cabinet" to the list of things to baby proof! This girl just does NOT give up! The funny thing was that she didn't mean to open the cabinet, it just happened as she was playing with the handle!

Oops! Caught cute-handed!

Kylie's new pet dog!

The last time we went to Venice Beach Kylie fell in love with one of those battery operated dogs that barks and walks. Of course I had no cash so we could only window-shop! Today we went back to Venice for our weekly trip and I promised Kylie I would buy her the little barking dog! Sure enough she still loved that dog! The minute she saw the dog she started cracking up and smiling! I was so excited since the guy we bought it from was deaf so I got to use some sign language that my brother taught me with him! I did chicken out though and only said "Thank You" totally abandoning my initial plan to show all my tricks "My name is Rachel", "Brush Teeth", "Tiger", and "Pants". Good idea, right?! Here is Kylie checking out her very first pet, "Barky".

I was so excited to get home to see how Kylie would react to Barky when she could crawl around and chase him. Well, no such luck, that cheap dog wiggles its legs, but doesn't even walk! Oh well, Kylie couldn't have cared less, she just loved to listen to it bark! Next thing you know, Kylie had Barky's snout in her mouth and her entire head was shaking with each motored bark and bite! It was so hilarious! Here are Ky and Barky getting to know one another!

How long until she asks for a real dog? Jim and I better start thinking of reasons to say "No" now!

I mean, come on!

Really, does it get any cuter than this? Seeing Kylie and Daddy together, especially cuddling, melts my heart. I swear I fall in love with both of them all over again.

Not Again!

I figured that when I lowered the crib that would be the end of standing up in it! Wrong again! This morning I was sooo surprised when I went into get Kylie and she was standing right up! I thought she wouldn't be able to pull up since the top rail was so high and the slats to climb up to it are flat and wide. But, once again, this little girl is much smarter than I give her credit for! She was so excited when I caught her standing! She is such a little show off (wonder where she gets that from?)!

Add to her list of achievements: Crib Chewing! NOOO!!! Not our nice (expensive) crib!!

Chowing down!!

She thinks she is soo cool!
